Wedding in PA

We traveled to PA at the end of June to see our granddaughter, Kassi, be married.  We were the only ones to use a MH.  Kassi was married in the boonies in a beautiful field with the reception on site in an old barn.  It was a wonderful venue  & day and we could park the camper right there so our dog Emma came also and stayed in the camper.  We took 3 days to go to the wedding and back.  The MH is so useful for everything.  Now we are waiting for Doctors and appointments and insurance to OK stuff for my back.  All I do is hurry up and wait!!!! WE have lost the time to go to New Mexico where we want to spent this winter.  There are more weddings in October for two more grandchildren so a short vacation in September is all that we can manage. Here is hoping we can find something for this winter in NM!!!!!!!!!

South Carolina this winter

After the Alaska thing we talked about our winter.  Our home is still not on the market and it will be cold out so we settled on a warmer winter in SC.  John found a rental in the development of friends so we had eyes on the ground.  We signed the rental 6 month lease in August sight unseen..

Our lease ran from mid Sept. to March 15th. Remember the SC Florence Hurricane?  Yup, the day our lease said 9/15 Florence came.  So we arrived one week late and stores were opened and there was gas to be had.  We took the long way and went north to our rental after traveling further south in the motorhome.   Our car came with John Jr. and wife driving it a week after we arrived so we have both vehicles here.   I-95 was under water in the Carolinas for awhile but not our rental.  It had water in the SC room that was dried up when we arrived.  The rug was tossed but that was all!  We are about 1 mile from the beach!

We have checked out the area around Murrells Inlet, (a tourist mecca) had 4 children plus a few spouses visit and the holidays have gone by.  Once we arrived the time has gone and we are traveling to Florida for a few weeks in January.  NO SNOW & SUN in SC!!!!!!!!

I have been buzzy with my art and this was given to a neighbor for Christmas
This watercolor I will leave over the front door with a beach sign under it

Alaska

After flying to Anchorage, Alaska, we rented a car and traveled the next day north to Denali NP.  Alaska is huge!  We spent 2 nights at McKinley Park, AK taking a 4.5 mile (4 1/2 hour-shortest with my dumb back!) tour in Denali NP.  We never saw the huge mountain, just clouds (the Alaskan range makes its own weather) but saw moose, rainbows, caribou, a fox and a snowshoe hare traveling the first 15 miles of road in the park allowed by private car before the actual tour.

On the way south again we saw mountain goats on a cliff on the side of the road and stopped at a Musk Ox farm and toured.  It took us a complete day to travel south again past Anchorage to Moose Pass, AK. where we stayed in a tiny log cabin in the woods.

We had fantastic weather (except in Denali) and on a boat tour in Kenai Fjords NP we saw lots of sea and land wildlife including my first bear (not as a dot or squished on the side of the road) as well as a glacier calving.  We heard and felt the glacier splashing into the sea-very impressive!  The following day we hiked a short distance, visited an aquarium and boarded the ship for the next part of the trip, a cruise on the inland Alaskan Waterway. No pictures here for my camera died.  I must rely on pictures from my daughter-in-law.
